As with most college groups, I'm part of my (insert college here class of 2016) group. People post about pretty random things, such as "who likes dubstep" or "anyone looking to play softball next year?" but one of the most prevelant questions is "anyone looking for a roommate? message me if you are!!!" The thing is, without any information provided about the person in such a post, you really can only judge a person based on their picture and their name (which is a really bad/inaccurate) way to judge people.

When I tried to post a more detailed post about myself and encouraged people to message me, a few did, but it seems like we sort of got bored with each other and stopped talking after about a week or two. Which leads me to believe that finding a "match" through facebook is pretty hopeless. Anyone experience otherwise?

Roomsurf is not really used at my school (we tried, trust me).

Now I'm sort of leaning towards just getting a random roommate...but honestly Id feel better about picking someone I've actually talked to beforehand and such.

Anyone have any experience/tips on this whole roommate search?
