Finding a teacher to write a rec

<p>How many teachers need to write letters of reccomendations for me if I'm applying to UCs?</p>

<p>If I need at least 2 teachers, how do you think I should ask them if I don't know any of them well (except for one teacher)? I'm kind of quiet... so I'm not sure if they'll be able to write recs for me since I doubt they know me well either.</p>
