Which universities/LACs would be matches and reaches for the following? The instate safety is already down, but one out of Washington would be great, too.

Potential major: something in the social sciences, or computer programming. Or political science, economics, psychology. Really, though, no idea.

Also, this isn't for me, a friend of mine is having me post this up as a favor, so any help? If you need more information just let me know.

Is she willing to be in the east or midwest? Any size preference? LACs seem to range from the more artsy/funky to quite preppy. Any preference there? Is paying for it an issue? People with scores like that might have a few Ivies as reaches plus some top ten LACs. If she doesn’t want to leave the West, the Pomona colleges could be an interesting choice.

Okay, she says she would prefer the east, but the midwest is fine with her. She’s more of an artsy type, and is looking for an urban setting, but even though she won’t admit it, she does fit in with the typical idea of a prep.

I second the idea of the Claremont consortium. Another good choice would be Santa Clara - she might get merit aid there.

Vassar and Wesleyan would be good for a little more artsy but also somewhat preppy. Middlebury is great but a little more sportsy/preppy than the other two. For merit aid, maybe Grinnell?
