Does the entire employment process happen in the first semester (fall)? It seems as if the bulk of the interviews and application deadlines were all due in October/November. I submitted a couple applications, but haven't actually interviewed with anyone....

Are there spring deadlines/interviews or is it too late? Please help, thanks.

You can absolutely find a job in the winter or spring semesters. Don’t worry about rushing things in the fall. You should absolutely be applying and interviewing with companies now, but that doesn’t mean you have to have a job by now.

Companies are always hiring (yes even in this job market) and they are always interested in new young talent (yes even if they aren’t currently hiring). So keep at it, and keep in touch with all the companies you are interested in.

Most big companies start their recruiting season in the Fall. You need to be active in the Fall term by finding out job fair, company interviews, etc. from your school’s Career Office. In this economy, it is never too early. Continue to be proactive in searching for a job from now on.

Recruiting starts very early for companies that hire in “classes” – think big accounting firms, consulting firms, banks, trading companies, companies with rotational programs, etc. Even many government programs that directly hire new graduates have very early deadlines – often in October. These have probably wrapped up recruiting for the year. That said, most people don’t get jobs through these, and there is general recruiting going on all year, even after your graduation date. Many people don’t have jobs by graduation and are still looking even a few months out.
