Finding Scholarships. . . given my situation, should it really be that hard to find?

Hi everyone,

I am currently a sophomore and I am putting myself through college. Of course this means I have insane amounts of loans. I thought to myself that maybe applying for scholarships (like lots and lots of them) and hopefully winning some would be a great way to reduce the financial strain I will be facing when I graduate. Unfortunately, I haven't had much success in my searches. I knew that it wouldn't be easy, but I had no idea it would be this hard!

I am a hispanic female student who comes from a low income family. I attend a fairly good school and have a decent GPA. (2.6 first semester and 3.5 2nd semester, so right now it's a 3.0). I will most likely be a science major and am Pre-Health. (Will most likely want to go into medicine or public health).

Is there any specific scholarships you guys think I should try to go for, or any general information in the way I should guide my search that might lead in successful findings?

Thanks!

If you are from a low income family have you applied for need based aid?

Here's a starting point.

Yep. I've applied for financial aid, but there's still a rather big gap that I have to fill in.

Thanks karp, I've actually looked through those. I only qualify for about 2 ...mostly because I'm not going into business/finance/econ. But thanks!
