UCSD admits into the University first and then into the major so make sure you have a good backup alternate major (not capped) besides your first choice of CS. For many CS applicants, they can also end up being accepted as Undeclared. Changing from any non-capped/Undeclared major to CS is by lottery which means you have to meet the pre-req course and GPA requirements and then you placed into a lottery for available spots. It may be a target school based on overall admission stats but not for CS.

It is common with nursing, where some “direct admit” nursing programs require college GPA as high as 3.5 to stay in the major.
Wisconsin also does weed-out with engineering majors with high college GPA requirements.

It is a Reach for CS but definitely obtainable with your excellent stats and qualifications.
