The podcast is a weekly interview conducted by “lifehacker” Tim Ferriss. In this episode he interviews a 28 year old Oxford tenured philosophy professor who is an expert on altruism. The interview covers such topics as efficient altruism, why some people (lawyers) go to law school with dreams of saving the world and end up defending environmental polluters and what can be done about it, how to pick a career, how to manage career goals, why you shouldn’t pick a career you are passionate about, and other topics.
If you can stomach Ferriss’s interviewing skills–he interviews high energy, high achievers and when Ferriss asks a question it takes forever for him to get his questions out–the podcasts and this one in particular for young people is great.
