Finding the Professor

So, I'm working on the Penn essay which asks for a professor you would like to work with. Now, is it true that even if you belong to one school (like CAS), you can still take classes from another school (like Wharton)? If so, does anyone know of any professors at Wharton who are involved with retail, manufacturing, and the general study of goods? I've tried searching, but haven't had much luck.

Thank you

look for marketing profs

I should clarify my question: can an undergraduate at CAS still take classes at Wharton, for example?

Say I'm interested in the retailing concentration; can I take retailing classes?

yes, our dear "one university" policy lets you take classes in any department you want - both undergraduate and graduate (as long as undergrads are given permission)

you can take any of the retailing concentration classes you want as long as you fulfill any prerequisites required

Really? Even graduate? Well, thanks!

If all you essays are focused on marketing and retail sales, the adcoms will wonder why you're applying to SAS and not Wharton.

^ I thought of that as well. However, I'm still thinking about what courses and path I want to take at Penn, and I won't focus my app. on marketing and retail.
