Someone with a bicycle and not afraid of hills can easily get to roads and trails to ride from the Berkeley campus.

However, Berkeley is unlikely to be affordable to the OP unless s/he gets the Drake scholarship; need based financial aid will be $22,000 short for OOS students (as it is for other UCs).

To the OP: What kind of price limit can you afford, including what your parents have said they are able and willing to contribute?

whenhen, I posted a link about how GT students participate in many Outdoor activities despite the location. Let’s leave it up to the OP to consider it without your negative input. GT would offer a wonderful engineering education and free tuition for the OP. Therefore, my post offers many benefits to him.

After looking into your suggestions, I really love UC Boulder, and am considering CO School of Mines. The only thing stopping me is $. Especially at Boulder, the Out-of-State cost is ridiculously high. Any ideas as to how much I can expect out of a scholarship from them? My family is from Europe, and I am the oldest child, so this is an entirely new process, and any advice is greatly appreciated!

Moreover, you said GT would offer “free tuition”. Why do you say that - cost of tuition posted on their site says a total of $7718?

Are you not familiar with Georgia’s Hope and Zell Miller scholarships?
I did not know about the European factor. Check with your high school counselor.

Oh of course! I was so focused on universities outside of ga that I forgot the best part of in-state college. GT has been on my list for a while, and if I am unable to receive large enough scholarships out-of-state, this will be my go-to university in GA (granted that I get accepted).

Glad to hear it, Lohanizil. There are so many opportunities at GT and the students are amazing. The view of Atlanta from the roof top garden of the new Clough Learning Center might just change your mind about college in the city :)! If you can, sign up for Connect with Tech.
