Findlay or UMass Amherst?

Currently trying to decide between the University of Findlay and UMass Amherst for a pre veterinary program. I am a rising junior in high school and while I fully know I don’t need to decide what school to go to right now, I wanted to know if anyone knew more about these schools and the quality of their programs. Both schools seem to have fantastic science programs. Findlay has great hands on, even in freshman year, but I’m not too sure about UMass. Also Findlay is private and more expensive, but since it is private, it is a bit more generous with scholarships. Opinions?

Thanks,
V.

have you read the umass amherst animal science web site? they ARE the largest feeder school for Tufts vet school. In the Spring, they have a “4-H type” of fair, I think it’s called the Bay State Classic. Go and observe the students. I’ve been twice, and they seem quite content. I’ve been told students have a great deal of hands on experience. Have you been to a UMASS Amherst Open House for the Animal Science program? It’s a big university, but a small department. My daughter will enter the Animal Science program in Fall, 2016, after taking a Gap Year.

(Can’t beat the price $$$)
