So I plan on going to Wright State University when I graduate (Currently a Junior in high school) and I plan to major in Fine arts, like painting or drawing. Do I need to create an art portfolio? If so, Should I start now?
@Diamondgold this is actually in the Musical Theatre forum, which is why you probably haven’t gotten responses. I am only familiar with MT and Acting, so am not sure where you should post this!
@Diamondgold - I have a S who graduated Musical Theater from WSU 2 years ago and also have a S who attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati. You may want to post this question on the Art major forum. However, from my Art S’s experience, my suggestion is to start a portfolio ASAP. And if at all possible, get yourself to a National Portfolio Day - https://nationalportfolioday.org - they should be starting up very soon. I’m sure you can find out from the WSU website what items are required for their portfolio, but going to a Portfolio Day is SO valuable for getting feedback - BEFORE you’re assembling things to submit. My S attended his 1st as a HS freshman or sophomore and received excellent comments on what to improve and/or refocus. You may also encounter some other programs that interest you. Good luck.
Can anyone tell me how long it takes to find out about the prescreen ? We did the prescreen because we didn’t want another weekend of travel. But haven’t heard back. We know auditions tend to fill up quickly so I didn’t know how long to wait?
We found out in about a week.
