My goal is to finish reading the book by Monday and then start reading the DH US History in a Flash.

The only problem is, it is really boring to read. I’m only on page 174…

Any tips?

I am thinking about skipping the Historical Perspectives at the end of each chapter to make things go faster

Skip it and just read DH. You save time and you won’t skip over any info that’s not on the AP test.

I actually find the Historical Perspective bits to be pretty useful as it kind of blends all the discussed matters together plus it can give some nice ideas for the essays.

@garfield

I was considering doing that but DH is fairly new and I rather not take a chance.

@Kwisatz

I have been reading the perspectives, but I think I will start skimming through them.

I don’t know how I am going to do this, I’m on chapter 10 right now.

don’t worry, i haven’t even started reading the amsco book except for the New Deal and WWII chapters. i haven’t heard of the direct hits us history book. is it supposed to be better than amsco?

^Yep, I agree with Garfieldliker. US History in a Flash is better than Amsco. This is especially true with two weeks left.

im on page 210. Relax, try to read 100 pages a day (like me). My goal is to finish by Monday. All you need is discipline but these nba and nhl playoffs are not helping out…lol

Yes, it’s horrible but I need to start cranking it out. I am now on page 241, my goal is to reach 350 or maybe 400 if I am up to it by the end of today.

I am almost finished with the Direct Hits book and it has been very helpful already with the tests my teacher is giving us. Check out the free tips on the US History in a Flash page they are awesome and you can even ask questions and get them answered.

BTW, the book is new but the author has written a lot of AP study guides.

I’m reading through AMSCO but I dont have the direct hits book… not enough time to buy it and I can’t find it in any bookstores???

I’m 1/3 through the chapters in AMSCO but I have 5 other AP’s to study for (US history I’ve done the most for… oh geez) and I’m planning to finish the book in the next few days if I can force myself to read it. Its pretty helpful to me but it does take quite a long time to read and remember most of it.

I DO have the Direct Hits on Facebook ([Welcome to Facebook - Log In, Sign Up or Learn More](<a href=“Facebook - log in or sign up”>Facebook - log in or sign up)) and it is PERFECT, BEAUTIFUL, WONDERFUL, AMAZING. The author responds personally, answers EVERY question that you have, answers it well and organized, with the information that you need to know. There are daily top 10 lists like top 10 presidents to know, top 10 reformers, top 10 economic events, etc and it’s just perfect. I’m actually excited daily to check the lists out haha
