FinMath

Ive decided that a major in finance is just not for me because of the dry nature of the stuff i would be taught..im more of a quant guy who finds joy in the mathematical concepts and applications of finance. I was wondering if anyone has a list of some of the top schools with a financial mathematics trek in the math department.
Thank You

i'm not sure if there is a mathematical trek for finance. finance is largely application based and is just a business major. finance math is very easy generally speaking. if you like math but would like to apply it to business i would suggest the following disciplines:

industrial engineering
statistics
actuarial science
economics ( i know that NW has a great mathematical route for this).

Finance Mathematics is easy? Measure THeory based probability didn't seem very easy. Stochastic Differential Equations isn't "easy" either. Nor are Stochastic Processes or Ito Calculus etc etc etc.

I know for sure that UVA and Umich have a finmath track for ug.

CMU has a major in computational finance in the math department. Also, their finance concentration in the business school is very quantitative.

haitham, i lost your number, can you give it to me again. email me at mencheng@sas.upenn.edu

i meant the mathematics involved if your a typical finance major.
