Fire Alarm During the SAT

While my school was taking the SAT on April 12, the fire alarm sounded while my class was on the writing section. As a result, everyone had to be evacuated, but after that, the entire school continued the test as usual, pausing the time while everyone was outside.

Will our school’s scores get cancelled?

According to College Board, the SAT is “bullet-proof” and the validity of SAT scores can withstand any kind of unexpected event. In June 2015, two sections were cancelled but the scores were issued as valid. How far into the exam did the fire evacuation take place?

Like I said in the original post, it happened during the writing section of the new sat, so about 1/3 of the way in

I think your score won’t be cancelled and advise you not to worry. I took the SAT in October and there was a bomb threat and I still received my scores as if nothing had happened. Also, I think you have nothing to worry about since the entire testing center experienced the disruption and “balancing measures” (pausing the time) where taken. I doubt the College Board is looking to give a refund to (200-300) students anyways :D. However, if say there was a kid in your testing room who started shouting answers aloud then potentially you may have your score cancelled
