dont stop believing- journey (glee version)
quando quando quando - michael buble ft nelly furtado (even though its not 09)
morining after dark- timbaland ft soshy and nelly furtado

Fireflies is a poor rip-off of the Postal Service. Look them up instead - they are WAY better. +1 for the Glee song though, I love Glee!

My top five:

 1. My Girls - Animal Collective
 2. MX Missiles - Andrew Bird
 3. The Mistress Witch of McClure (Or, the Mind that Knows Itself) - Sufjan Stevens
 4. Bad Romance - Lady Gaga
 5. Yr Bird - M. Ward

i cant stand fireflies…its like a song for people who think their taste in music is maturing…its just horrible…

Listen to the early Death Cab for Cutie back in the 90s

Lead singer of death cab for cutie —> Postal service

I never really used to be into pop, but I think 2009 had a pretty good year. Still, I have to have some other stuff on there too :D

As for Owl City…I have 2 albums and I do like playing them in the background. Nothing wrong with a bunch of beats and pretty sounds, whether they’re strictly original or not (which they obviously aren’t…).

In no particular order:

Shake Me Like A Monkey - Dave Matthews Band
Assasins - John mayer
Tear Down The Walls - Davy Knowles
Funny The Way It Is - Dave Matthews Band

My favorite artists didn’t have too much this past year as far as releases go so the list is a little on the short side. But hopefully a new chilis record will be on the list in 2010!

I Gotta Feeling - Black Eyed Peas

The song of my senior year, FTW. :)

So can we all agree music from this year sucked?
Can we also all agree that fireflies is easily the most tool-ish song ever written?

Good.

Passion Pit’s Manners album
Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix

Halo - Beyonce
Bloc Party’s “Intimacy” (Even though it was technically released in '08…)
1901 - Phoenix
Boom - Anjulie
Birthday - Awesome New Republic

Down/ Do you Remember - Jay Sean
In my head - Jason Derulo
I gotta Feelin’ - Black Eye Peas
Lady Gaga, and Jay-Z songs

Fireflies is terrible, very homosexual.

I’ll try to pick ones that are somewhat popular…

Gucci Mane - Wasted
Deadmau5 - Ghosts N Stuff
Young Jeezy - Trap or Die 2 (if you aren’t in the ATL then you prob never heard it)
Passion Pit - Sleepyhead
Young Money - Bedrock

For the record, Owl City is legit and I would’ve put that Jay Sean song up there too if ya’ll didn’t already list it.

Fireflies is so heterosexual that it is ridiculous.

Kudos to Open Sesame. I adore Animal Collective, by far one of the rawest and best bands out there. Andrew Bird’s great when one wants to mellow. And Sufjan Stevens is ****ing beautiful. Not that big a fan of M. Ward or poke-her-face though.

Passion Pit’s got a few good songs. (:

I’m waiting for The Acorn to release their new album.

Hm I really liked Fireflies initially but I think it gets pretty repetitive after a while…I also like Hello Seattle by them.

Use Somebody- Kings of Leon
Hey Soul Sister- Train
Down- Jay Sean
Haven’t Met You Yet- Michael Buble
You Belong With Me- Taylor Swift

Turn It Off - Paramore

Haven’t Met You Yet - Michael Buble

Eet - Regina Spektor

Sweet Disposition - Temper Trap
