FIREFOX- Anyone using it?

I've been using Firefox for around a year and a half. It's brilliant! :) I've managed to customize it to a large degree (I use 27 extensions). I'd recommend Noia as a theme...

If we're recommending themes, I'd like to throw grApple out there. It's fairly minimalist and resembles Safari's icons.

I just use safari.

yeah, but it's not compatible with some websites including Yahoo Mail Beta. plus there aren't any 3rd party extensions for safari.

But, Safari, in my experience, does run more smoothly than Firefox on the Mac.

I use and love Firefox on my PC, and know a lot of people who do. But does anyone actually use Thunderbird?

I actually have a mac and I prefer firefox, just because of the occasional thing they won't appear or download on Safari. Otherwise, they run about the same on my computer.

I like FF enough im a developer for it.

seamonkey is also very good.

Not being able to use yahoo mail beta doesn't bother me.

I really don't have any problem at all with firefox on my mac.

fuzzylogic- Thanks for the link!

I'm using iFox as my theme and I've got colored tabs! so pretty :)
And I downloaded the splitting screen thing but it's not so useful haha

Opera is the best.

I use firefox and love it! way better than internet explorer. the only problem ive ever had with it is the copy and paste feature not working sometime...but i think its just a bug

I love the new Firefox.

Well, except when it gets all laggy, but that's not Firefox's fault.

I have Firefox on openSuSE Linux (came preinstalled :) )

I like it very much. I also have Konquerer, but don't use it much.

runningncircles: how compatible to you find linux to be for all your college related work? can you manage esily or do you have to keep windows on a separate partition?

I haven't had to use Windows at all for college stuff, actually. This computer came with openoffice, so I got similar programs as Microsoft Office (Word processor, PowerPoint-esque presentation program, spreadsheet) without having to buy Microsoft Office. I'm in CS right now, and have to use MATLAB, and installed it without hassle. I can use most Windows games on here, but you do need seperate executable files. However, as long as you have the game file that came with your game, you can just download the executable from the net, put the game file in the same folder, and run it without difficulty.

You can compile source code on here to fit your computer's attributes. This is great since I have a dual-core processor, so I can set it up to compile for two threaded processors instead of just one.

If there are Windows apps that are hard to live without, you can download Wine or CrossoverOffice, and it will run your Windows programs (such as Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook, games that don't have Linux executables, etc.)

This system is definitely more stable, uses resources more efficiently, and the GUI is much better than Vista (especially since I put XGL and Beryl on here), however it takes less resources to run than Vista's Aero. Also, no need for virus scanners or firewalls (very secure system).

I still keep Windows on a separate partition, but I rarely touch it (it's mainly for any of my computer-illiterate friends). Installing Linux is more user-friendly than it used to be, but setting it up once everything is installed can be a pain to a below-novice user.

So, all-in-all, I've been able to deal without Windows.

I'm using Firefox on my MacBook. I haven't used Safari at all since I got my Mac, well, only once, to download Firefox. :) I heard that Camino is good as well (it's Firefox, Mac-style!).

<a href="http://www.caminobrowser.org%5B/url%5D">www.caminobrowser.org</a></p>

I use firefox and safari on a mac. I like Safari better, but since I am on Comcast HS Internet, Safari no longer works. Has anyone else had this problem?

camino is nice but it doesn't have as many extensions or themes as firefox but if you're using it, i suggest you dowload caminicon as well. that is if you like eye candy.
