Hi guys, my name is Megan and I have been living on 2666 Ellendale (managed by First Choice Housing) for the last year and a half and I got to tell you, I have nothing but good things to say about their services and their managers. Ronnie, he is adorable :>) Nadine, the office manager is just sweet as it can be. I renewed last year and got one month free and am planning on renewing for this year too.

Gee, thanks for the blatant advertisement, “Megan.”

First off, I love the cliche name. You think these people would be smart enough to realize that any glowing reviews of a company/product when the user has less than 10 posts is a clear signal that it’s a blatant advertisement.

The fact that First Choice Housing feels the need to come on here and try to defend themselves against the multitude of posts highlighting their poor service should be an immediate red flag to any of those looking for housing.

A bit of advice…in any city today it is a good idea to videotape the apartment spaces before moving in, have the tape dated and witnessed. After moving out and leaving the apartment in decent order videotape the spaces again, have the tape dated and witnessed. Now the landlord cannot make any false claims about the condition of the apartment.

There are individuals who trash apartments. In a previous state a renter used the apartment to paint auto parts. Yes, that is true. The apartment walls, rugs, cabinets, floors, fixtures were ruined. The landlord sued the renter for the extensive damage.

Protect yourself in advance. Read the fine print of any contract. Talk to renters in the building where you hope to live before you sign any papers, if this is feasible. There are student sites at SC where you can post questions. Check out some of the student groups on Facebook. Perhaps students there can suggest names of acceptable complexes.

anyways where are the best “just off campus” places to live?
im on 30th right now but its kinda eh
