First Choice Letter

Is it terrible if you do not send one? What if I do not have a full choice letter?

Don’t think so. You only send one if you have a DEFINITE first choice, but even so its only optional. When I apply I will send one because I have a definite first choice, but, although it is optional, I think sending one could definitely help. Man I like saying the word definitely don’t I!

never heard of this before!

Can someone give me an example of what one would say? Can you send it after you send the application? What if you only applied to one school- should a first choice letter be sent?

Haha I have so many questions!

I never thought of that! But like what would you say…

yeaa what would you said “hi, u r my 1st choice?”

i can pm anyone my first choice letter fro anyone who wants to know how to write one

can you please PM it to me Hcos? thanks :)

MAY u please PM it to me too? =)

yeah hcos can you also pm me one please …

I would appreciate it :D

Me 2!! Please!

me too i guess…

ssrfsfsfsfsfsfsfsfsfs

me too please
if you can
sorry to be a bother

yeahh I don’t know if you still do this (because this post is from 2009) but me too please!

Really? It’s not that difficult. If you’re waitlisted and want to tell the school you’ll attend if admitted . . . then that’s what you say.

And if you want to write such a letter to a school you’re applying to next year . . . well, first, it’s ridiculously early to be making such a decision. And if it’s the ONLY school you want to attend (or apply to), then you really need to broaden your search. But, in any event, you can simply tell the admissions officer either (a) when you interview or (b) in your thank you note to the interviewer after the interview.

If you reach the decision that School X is your first choice after you’ve interviewed there and visited and interviewed at other schools, then you can also follow up with a brief note to the interviewer saying, “Now that I’ve visited other schools, I am more certain than ever that School X is the right school for me and, if admitted, I will absolutely attend.” Such a note could be sent anytime up to around the application deadline.
