Do you notice a difference in how you conduct your day according to when you start/get to sleep?

I currently start at 12pm for four days a week, with Fridays off completely. Yet I'm worried this may result in a slackened attitude...I may switch back to morning classes.

I start at 8am on MWF, and 9:30am on TR. Not a huge difference, but I’m an extreme morning person (up by 5am), so the different between those feels like 8 vs 12 to most people…

On days that I start at 8, I feel stressed out and tired, as well as extremely rushed and busy. On other days, I feel much more calm and relaxed, even though I actually have more classes on those days. Maybe it’s just because I’ll always be waking up around the same time, but I like to have a few hours to myself before beginning, making sure everything is done and that I’m ready.

If it’s going to be the difference between your waking up at 7am versus rolling out of bed right before class starts, then I’d consider going to a morning schedule. I’ve known a number of people whose college sleeping habits have stayed with them long after college has ended, and it doesn’t help in the workforce in most cases.

I don’t think 12 is too bad. Just because you start school at 12 doesn’t mean you can’t wake up around 10 or so and study, hang out, do laundry, whatever. You’re going to school four days a week so I wouldn’t consider this lazy.

I had a 8 AM class on MWF my first semester of college. While I liked the class I HATED having an 8 AM class. Starting at 9 AM the next two semesters has definitely made a difference. When I started at 8 I’d spend the first class trying not to fall asleep, and I would usually be okay by the second. So yeah, it definitely made a difference for me being able to sleep in that extra hour.

9 am every day. 8 am on fridays - sucks REALLY REALLY BAD but at least I don’t have afternoon classes on friday.

I had 8 am two times a week and 10 am three times a week last year. I’d love to do classes at 12 but I also don’t want to spend all afternoon in class.

I’m pretty used to the 9 am class M-Th and then a 1 pm lab on Friday. I prefer morning classes because they force me to get up earlier, and I feel like I have more time in the day. If I didn’t have early classes, I’d probably spend that time sleeping, which always seems like a waste of time after I’ve woken up and seen how much time has passed. Plus, I hate late afternoon/evening classes.

MWF I start at 10AM, TTH 930AM. I’m usually fine with 10AM classes and my 930 won’t be so bad. Last year, I had an 8AM class all year long and it was so horrible. I’m just not a morning person at all. I do think you get a lot lazier if you start your classes in the afternoon but it’s all about discipline.

This semester my first class MWF isn’t until 11:30, but since I’ll be awake by 9 everyday anyway, I figure I can get a bunch of work done then. TTH though my first class is at 8:30.

Just be sure to ease your way through quarters/semesters…I went from 1 PM being my earliest to 6:50 AM lab 2 days a week the next quarter…NOT AN EASY ADJUSTMENT!

I have morning classes. MWThF all at 9am. Tues is only 11-12:30. The rest of the days I’m out by 12 or 12:30 but friday is my long day which means I’m out by 1. =[
But I kinda like having it like that, this way I can study for a bit take a nap or have time for my part time job. It gives me the rest of the day to do stuff.
As of right now, I wake up at 12:30 or 1… sooo this is gonna be a major adjustment. =/

Morning classes (9 or 10 AM) are THE way to go for me. I’m not tempted to sleep in and waste time and the classes are done earlier. And I’m not even a morning person!
