first day at new job

He's a star show presenter and laserist at our science center's planetarium. Bad hours, mediocre pay, but a really fun job.

yes i worked two jobs from the time i turned 16, one being in a local grocery store 4 days a week after school, and the other doing stuff for the local newspaper on my free time.

So yes, I do know the feelings you have, but trust me its worth it to prepare yourself for college and later on in life

Take this little lesson to heart when you plan for adult employment. So many on this board seem to be chasing the money. But you have to like your work, and no amount of money will make up for having a job you hate.

so true ... and can help looking for jobs in HS also ... McDonalds and grocery bagging jobs are out there ... but what do you like to do? Love to read? How about working in the library or in the funky little book store. Love animals? How about helping out at a vet? Love computer games? How about working as a stock kid at the local gaming store. Etc ... there is nothing to lose by asking about jobs at places you would enjoy working ... and if you're early, creative, and flexible you may be first in-line to get a really fun job ... fun as defined by you which is the only definition that matters. (If I could go back to HS I would have LOVED a job in a baseball card store working in the backroom opening, sorting, and displaying baseball cards ... unusual sure; but I would have loved it; and I doubt a while lot of people would have loved that job)
