I have TA sessions tomorrow for BIO and CALC tomorrow morning, but the actual class for BIO isn't until the afternoon, while CALC isn't tomorrow. Should I go anyways?

Ordinarily (or maybe I should say hopefully), if a section isn’t going to meet, the TA or instructor would have sent an e-mail to everyone in advance telling them. I recommend checking on Blackboard to see if there are any announcements for your class, and make sure you’re checking e-mail for whatever account UT has listed as your official e-mail address. To get to Blackboard click here, then enter your EID and password. Your course listing should show up on the first page. https://courses.utexas.edu/

Rarely will anyone’s labs meet during the first week, just for future reference. Some professors are still trying to find their TAs at that time and its usually the TAs who run the labs/discussion sections.

The main reason labs don’t meet the first week of classes doesn’t have anything to do with TA assignments. Most labs meet once a week, but Labor Day in the fall and MLK Day in the spring mean the Monday labs don’t meet that week, throwing the entire schedule out of whack. So they delay the first week of lab until the first full week of classes.
