Is the UNC "First Deadline" considered an Early Action program? The reason that I am asking is that my son is applying to another institution on a Single Choice Early Action basis that precludes him from applying to other institutions EA. Thanks.

You might want to talk to both admissions departments about that. From what I remember UNC’s first deadline tends to be just after the deadlines for all the other early action/early decision deadlines which allows you to apply to both. I know some people that took advantage of that a couple of years ago but things might have changed since then. As I said, shoot off an e-mail to both admissions departments to make sure.

Last year, when I applied it was just early decision (Not binding). I don’t think it has change but. I am sure it is somewhere on the admissions site

^
Early decision is binding. Early action, which UNC has, is non-binding.

So you are only completely wrong.

Yeah, UNC has Early Notification – you’re not obligated to go if you apply for Nov. 2.

My mistake…sorry for failure to the masses
