First ever C - how will that affect my chances?

I’m a senior. Just found out that I ended up with a 77 in AP Calc AB, my first ever C in my high school career. I have an A in my high honors class and 3 AP classes. At the end of junior year, I had a UW GPA of 3.65 and a W GPA of 4.7. Act of 32. How will this affect my chances? I’m planning on studying English/history…nothing to do with math. How bad will this look to colleges? First choices are Georgetown, Washington & Lee, and Amherst

Well, it will affect your chances. Historically, AP calc is a gpa killer. A C in AP Calc is not good of course, but it is the most likely class not to receive an A in high school. Since that isn’t your major or interest, it will have less of an impact. The 3.65 Gpa may have more impact, how is your weighted gpa so much higher?

I think you still have a shot at Washington and Lee. I, too, got a C in AB lol.
