"first generation" applicant or not?

<p>Hi, this might be a stupid question and I'm pretty sure I'm not a first generation applicant but I just wanted to confirm...</p>

<p>Both my parents were born and attended college and medical school in a different country and we came here when I was younger. Is there any hook/plus for them not going to American schools?</p>

<p>Its annoying not to have any legacies or connections here :/</p>

<p>First gen means first gen to attend college ANYWHERE, so no, you do not qualify.</p>

<p>What if your older brother/sister attends college but no one else did in your family?</p>

<p>I believe you are first generation in that case, considering you and your sibling are in the same generation.</p>
