How favorably is a first genration college student looked upon vs. a legacy? I have the stats and awards for some top schools, but I really don't have any connections... my relatives, parents, etc. never got to go to college.

Will first generation status even be a benefit to me in the admissions process?

first generation doesnt matter unless your parents were high school dropouts and now own a small boba store with a net income of >40,000

Being a legacy is a hook, first generation is not.

First generation generally helps poor URM Americans as a small factor. Of course the kids it helps have a hook already.

So there is no advantage? It seems that having qualifications is much harder for someone without college-educated parents.
