hey guys! do we only receive first generation scholarship for one year? or for all 4 years in school. received it last year but not this year. want to know whats up. thanks :)

Check with your school. Most schools don’t give first gen scholarships at all.

Agree. Check with your school. It must be a school specific scholarship. (you should have received some sort of information when you first got the scholarship telling you what the scholarship conditions are - at least that has been our experience with institutional scholarships)).

It is a federal scholarship. i got it through fafsa. it’s like if you parents didnt go to college, your the first generation to attend school.

I believe you can get it for 4 years as long as you meet the other requirements. Some schools have their own limits on the program. Where I’m at, if you drop a single class, even if your still full time, then you lose it.

okay thanks ! I’ll have to look into it more w my school , its a CC

Is it one of these? [First Generation Scholarships for College Students](First Generation Scholarships for College Students) Note that all depend on specifics (culture, company, etc). Each would have its own requirements. Ask at the FA office.

What kind of “federal scholarships” for first-gen can you get through completing a FAFSA? IIRC, that wasn’t even a question on there. I am a first gen and I got nothing of the sort.

I think you’re either confusing it with Pell or something along those lines or you’re confusing a private or university scholarship for a federal grant. Do you know the name of it?

don’t know the name, but I know it was 1,000 I think. I didn’t receive it this year though, don’t know why…
