first generation

im just thinking ahead for college and i noticed that it does make somewhat of a difference if you're a first generation student. my parents are both immigrants and came to the US after they graduated from high school in asia. they both attended state universities as secondary english learners, but does disqualify me as a first generation student?

Hmm…I’m not completely sure, but I think that if your parents went to a university, then it would count, so yuou wouldn’t be a first generation. My mom only went to nursing school, not a college or university, and my dad dropped out first year of community.

oh…so i wouldnt qualify?
