First Georgetown Acceptance...

For Georgetown College...

My letter said there were about 200 spots for about 1500 applicants this year. If my math is right, then there's about a 13% acceptance rate for the college. I don't how that compares with past years, but there it is.

Keep in mind that spots available does not equal the number of accepted students - it all depends on matriculation.

According to your calculations, NYU Stern would have an 8 % acceptance rate :P. But matriculation at NYU is like 30% so the real acceptance rate was around 25%.

I think it's safe to double the rate of acceptance (or even more).

Yeah that is my interpretation.

I think the yeild for transfers is probably higher than the yeild for freshman. with 200 spots I would guess they wouldn't admit more than 300 students. Does anyone know how many spots they would have for MSB ?

YAY I JUST GOT IN!!! I'm withdrawing my applications from all other schools than Harvard, and will most likely be at GTown in the fall! WOOHOOOO!!!!

congrats for shaganov!

For Shaganov, and any other admittees, would you please post your GPA/SAT/EC's/and any other pertinent information? Thanks.

3.73 from UVM took lots of upper level classes
2100 SATS
intern for senator leahy, co-pres college democrats, tons of internships, etc before.
i know everyone says this, but i really did have excellent/unique recs and essays and good and clearly defined reasons for wanting to go to georgetown.
i also attatched a really attractive picture. seriously, i've heard that helps...

Did you find out at school?

yes indeed

congrats...did you apply to the college?

Shag, you were college, right?

yep, I applied to the college but i might look into switching into the SFS before i start

hmm good idea. I wonder if anyone from SFS or MSB has recieved decisions and im also wondering if they would send to home or school address. I think I said post-May should be sent to my house.
