First Georgetown Acceptance...

oh awesome! thanx!

I dont think this is a rolling admissions type of thing. I think they look through your apps and whenever they feel confident with a decision on you they send it to you. Whether that means right away or at the very end.

well that's what i was trying to figure out....i turned in my app near the deadline...so i didn't know if early applicants were getting theirs sooner.

There is no rolling admissions. Acceptances are sent in the order they are reviewed, except for borderline applications, which are usually saved for last. The order in which applications are reviewed is random.

Ne.... err nspeds, so you eventually found out for a fact that boarderline applicants are saved for last?

lol i kinda figured that out...thank you.

Nspeds, I have another question. Did you ever find out if they saved the rejections for last?

I know students that have substantiated this, though I have heard nothing directly from the admissions committee.

It is kind of obvious when every rejectee you know received their letters after everyone else.

anybody else hear anything?

I talked to the admissions people yesterday...they said they would be attempting to have all decisions mailed out by 2 weeks before June 1st...thus i think that was just the 1st wave...there will probably be a couple more waves between now & then

All acceptees should hear before the 25th of May. That is how it was last year.

Another Georgetown transfer aceptee just posted in the Georgetown forum. He said he was an english major or something and is currently at UMich. Damn!!! I want that envelope!!!

have any SFS acceptances/rejections been posted?

I think that only College decisons have been sent so far...not MSB or SFS. But I could be wrong.

'Tis the same one who posted the first acceptance.

Oooh oops. Hopefully I'm the next one who's going to post! hehe

nspeds, what was your SAT?

nspeds, do you happen to know how many transfer students they accept... assuming that there are 200 spots and not every transfer student that gets accepted would go.

Nope. Sorry : (

to know how many they accept we'd have to know the percentage of transfers that matriculate compared to the percentage of freshman and multiply, i guess. last year there were 1400 applicants and 400 were admitted, so maybe roughly the same this year only with more applicants?
