First impression of these colleges

I am running an experiment. I am trying to decide which of these 3 schools people think of as more positive. Pretend like 3 people came to you to apply for a job from these 3 schools. You know nothing about these people, rank which college you think of as more complementary of the applicants. DONT LOOK THE SCHOOLS UP! Just go off what you feel. Also, could you please leave your age and region you live in if you feel comfortable. The schools are : Case Western, NYU, Northeastern.
I am looking for which you think is academically better, so if you want you can add on your opinions. But make sure you rank them!
THANK YOU

It would be especially helpful if people who attended these schools could comment on their academics…Thanks

Without specifying a major, this is not a useful exercise.

It depends if someone is looking for an engineer or business major. Each school is known for different things.

I’m from California and i’ve only ever heard of NYU.

Northwestern, NYU, Case Western… Honestly, what is case western??? Never heard of it, and I applied to 32 colleges. Northwestern and NYU rank very well.

Northeastern, not Northwestern. This is going swimmingly. [-(

The people who hire and the people who work in admissions at graduate schools have heard of all three. As someone above stated, it helps to know what the major is

NYU -> Northeastern -> Case Western as far as totally anecdotal totally layman prestige goes (IMHO).

@2muchquan Oh, missed that. All I’ve been thinking about for the last six months is NYU and Northwestern… Okay, so NYU, Northwestern, Case Western.

For me, overall, academically:
NYU > Northeastern = Case Western

But we need to know what majors you’re considering to give a more informed answer. Also, if you require a regular campus experience, you will not get that at NYU.

My location: Davenport, IA

Interesting read so far. If I’d been hiring solely on name I’d have picked Case Western first. They have a good reputation around here. NYU would be second. Northeastern would be quite far back among the three. Most around here haven’t heard of them.

ETA: Folks have heard of Northwestern around here and would consider them similar to Case Western, but the OP asked about Northeastern…

We’re in South Central PA. Our school has had students go to Case Western and NYU. I can’t recall any even applying to Northeastern, but maybe there’s been one or two in the past. I don’t keep track of them all, but I do look at the lists posted on our wall every year.

NYU
Case Western
Northeastern
(I’m a parent from the Northeast)

@2muchquam
IKR

The Major is ENGINEERING
thanks guys

Northeastern comes in first for engineering in my opinion. It opens up doors plus amazing coops.

I’m literally crying I’m laughing so hard. =)) But to play along, Case Western, Northeastern, NYU. Agreed NYU is better known, but when I think of it I think of more expensive than its academics merit.

Overall, I’d go NYU>Case> Northeastern
Random comments…
NYU in heart of Greenwich Village, no traditional campus.
Case - always struck me as a pretty STEM oriented school, maybe move it up on list for engineering
Northeastern - coop program

Age: 18 in a week
Location: NJ, just outside of NYC.

NYU>Northeastern>Case

It depends on the major, though. I think NYU is overpriced.

For engineering?
Case>>northeastern
Wouldn’t even consider NYU for engineering
