<p>There isn’t a “first generation” option on the Common App. You just write the education details for your parents.</p>
<p>For other apps, I don’t think you should mark it. Your parents do have college educations.</p>
<p>They don’t ask the question that way–at least, not on any application my daughter completed. Instead, they ask for information about your parents, including their higher education. Unless you’re going to lie, colleges are going to know your parents were educated in India.</p>
