Hey, I'm a junior and I'm really interested in Whitman. I was if anyone could help me understand what their financial aid situation is like. What kinds of things do they look at to see if you qualify for academic scholarships? Any info would help. Thanks =)

The website has a lot of information under financial aid and there may be more in the catalogue (which you can download and read online). You also shouldn't hesitate to email the FA office (maybe in a few weeks after the admission rush has subsided a bit). Whitman staff are usually very willing to be helpful and glad to know you are demonstrating interest in the school. I've found them very responsive to email questions..good luck.

Thanks for answering back. I'll definately email them with questions and hopefully I'll get back answers that will help me with my college search!

Currently I'm leaning towards becoming a pre-med and going to graduate school after college. I was wondering if Whitman could help me prepare for graduate school while also providing me with other options to help me build a strong educational background that would be helpful in the case that I decide medicine is not the career for me. Does Whitman have strong areas of study (like English, Chemistry, Environmental Studies, etc)?

Whitman seems like a great school because the school promises to challenge its students and the faculty seems genuinely interested in every students success. I've talked to an alumni and she told me that the professors actually go out to lunch with their students and are very helpful. That and the small class sizes are really important to me because I feel like I benefit from and learn much more in an engaging and lively environment. I'm trying to make a pros/cons list for each of the colleges on my college list and if anyone has any pros OR cons I'd love to hear your thoughts.
