First post! Looking for some chance advice!

Hey everyone! I've been a lurker here for quite some time and have finally worked up the courage to register for these forums! I'm just starting the college admission process and everyone here seems really knowledgeable on subjects like this...

Here it goes...be as honest/critical/doubtful/etc as you want

Cornell
Georgetown

I've been on my HS Student Council for 4 Years and serve as Senior Class President

Held a job for 3 years now

Of course there's other side projects and all that I'd work into my apps as well, but those are probably the main highlights of my resume...

Thanks for advice!

Hoping for some advice

Bump

Will chance back

You have a good profile with about the only thing lacking is any sort of athletic involvement but given your other ECs I doubt that’s an issue.

My one question is what is your unweighted GPA?

Your SATs have you hovering around the 75th%-tile at each of the schools, assuming an UW GPA of 3.8 I’d say you are a competitive candidate at all four. But, the four schools on your list have low admittance rates, (BC & ND are in the mid 20% range, Georgetown and Cornell are closer to 20%). Statistically BC is the easiest school, but it can hardly be considered a safety.

I’d add a couple of safety schools to your list.

Now, if I were to bump those SAT scores into the high 1400s-low 1500s how would that impact my chances?

I’m taking the test one more time in November

And my unweighted is 3.9

just bumping this

Cornell - match
Georgetown - high match
Notre Dame - match ~ low match
Boston College - safe

Question, what does the term “match” mean?

Makes sense now! Any other input

Anything else
