First Quarter Grades for ED

How important are 1st quarter grades for early decision? My GPA is 4.14ish unweighted with all the most challenging classes my school offers minus 1 AP I elected not to take. I'm not saying that I'm getting all Bs first quarter. I think I'll be getting an A in AP Calc, AP Spanish, and advanced physics. There's no guarantee, but I'm positive at the very least 2 of those 3 will be As and if the other isn't it will be a B+. In AP English I'm worried about getting a B+, that will take work, it might even be a B. I'll also get an A in science research and A+ in health...but still...is this going to be really detrimental to my chances?

bump, i'd like to know as well...are high B's in AP classes (90-92) gonna hurt?

I'm not exactly sure how important, but since most ED schools or EA don't have the 1st quarter, I would say Duke values it. However, I don't think having 1 B will hurt you in any way, we are all human, we can't be perfect.

As long as your grade doesn't take a nosedive it should be fine.

the answer is NO-- as long as previous grades are good one B will not matter in their decision making process
