I applied early to Duke University and my quarter grades have not yet been sent out.

The exact wording is this: If your school issues First Quarter/Trimester grades and they have not been included on your original transcript, an report containing these grades is required to complete your application.

My school only posts semester grades on student transcripts, not quarter grades, so does this apply to me?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I’ve checked with Duke as I have the same problem. It’s fine. If your school doesn’t have first quarter grades, you don’t have to submit them and Duke won’t penalise you. It will still be recorded as incomplete on the checklist though.

You might just want to inform them anyway. Or get your guidance counselor to do so.

Duke deals with this issue every year . . . and for many applicants. Essentially, when you’ve done everything that is required OF YOU, Duke won’t penalize you for others’ tardiness or for institutional policies.

I read the OP as saying that he/she DOES get quarter grades, but they simply are not included on the official transcript. If that’s the case, you MUST send them to Duke. My school was the same in that the quarter grades were basically a “progress report” and didn’t have any official determining factor, but I certainly made sure to send them to Duke.

“Issues” does NOT mean include on transcript. If they send any update to you that have grades, you have to send it to Duke.
