Received an email from Cornell Engineering Admission requesting to send first-quarter grades. Has anyone else also received such a request? A good sign or a bad sign? or just something routine?

I just got the same email, and I don't know what it means either.

I got one too.

Same.. I guess you just do it.

Is this a new policy? I always thought ED applicants are judged based on their freshman to junior grades.

What do we do if our grades aren't in yet?

same, think everyone gets it, as long as they've started evaluating your application

wow
do you think this has to do with the number of applicants this yr?
I read a few posts on cc that showed some statistics that ED applicant pool this year went up significantly for most schools. (i'm not too sure about cornell).

and did anyone get this for ILR?
because i applied ED and havent heard anything from them.

^ i applied ED to ILR. and i havent heard anything from them regarding quarter grades. and quite frankly, i hope i never do; my quarter grades are pretty bad....

My son has not heard from them (also ILR) but he actually wants to send them in since he did well. His guidance counselor was thinking of sending them in on her own. It's probably not something he should contact admissions about.

Same! Is Cornell insane this year? What's happening... O.o

Does this mean that they won't give you a decision if you don't send the grades?

I haven't gotten an e-mail...
Maybe certain colleges aren't asking? I applied ED to CALS.

hey guys ...
do they want us to send midyear report? or just the mark???

Should I ask my GC to send my first-quarter grades to Cornell? I applied ED to HumEc, and they didn't request them, but I did really well so I'd like Cornell to see them.

@ivy_go: Not mid-year. They want quarter grades: actual finalized marks in your classes.

@Chandler: Yeah, go for it! I'm doing the same for CALS because I really want them to see the kind of grades I got this year and my college counselor says it's perfectly fine to send them.

Haha bestwhit, I love how we're both on CC at 12:40 on a Friday night.

Yeah, I'll send her an email and ask her to send my first-quarter grades, I think they'll help my decision. Unless I was already reviewed and decided on.

No college actually requested first-quarter grades except CoE, right?

That's what it looks like.

Hahahah we are so infinitely lame. But that's okay.
I think. :D

Only CoE? Yay! Got two Bs this term and don't want Cornell to see them. XD

I thought Cornell said not to send additional things they didn't ask for, because it just confuses them in the process.
