First Quarter Grades

I sure hope so. December is going to be hell.

I’m really glad Group 4 & EE have been submitted - Sep/October were nightmarish for me. My other classes seem to have easier material but Math just keeps getting harder… Do you guys have midterms before or after break? Mine are before, which is a double-edged sword, but it’s been like this for 4 years now so you’d think I’d get used to it.

@CountingDown: That’s intense! Our school has a rule that only 2 major things can be due on one day - they generally just move it back a day to accommodate this, but still that sounds hectic! I wish him luck! We did WL1 end of last year and WL2 September of this year. Recorded orals are coming up in English though… -__- The IB assessments never end…

The IB program sounds 50X harder than the AP program.

I don’t know. I think the classes have comparable work load, but there are like a million other requirements for the program, so I guess that’s why it’s so much more stressful. And the whole “review 2 years” thing - painful. I mean, I’ve never taken an AP - does anyone who’s done both want to comment?

Here’s it’s no more than three things due the same day. S2 did WL1 in May, but they are supposed to turn in the revised by 12/15. Of course, the teachers said the kids “would get plenty of time to revise,” but they haven’t distributed the papers yet. Meanwhile WL #2 is progressing. EE is stuck in the mud.

Honestly, I was freaking out about EE until I just sat down and wrote a sold rough draft (I did pull an all-nighter for this…) and then afterward it was just editing/formatting/scanning appendices and other such annoying things. What subject is he writing it in?

We don’t have a specific rule on the number of things that can be due on a certain day but the various departments are very good about spreading them out.

WL1, WL2, and G4 were all done last year. EE drafts had to be in by May and most of us are pretty far along with it; the editing process continues through December and we have to turn in final drafts in January. TOK papers are due mid December, as are two of my IAs…oral commentaries are in January.

After January college applications and all the big IB stuff is done so the rest of the year is exam prep.

Wow, that’s a long time spent on EE. We started the process in mid-April and turned it in the beginning of November. We just have orals left as our big assessments and maybe a unit or two to learn, then prep. What subjects are you taking?
