<p>At least in Texas (I think most states in the south do this too) you could get PE credit for doing sports. It’s an excuse for coaches to get you to practice during school too.</p>
<p>^^^At my school, athletics and some EC’s have their own class periods. I have cross country first period and choir for half of second period (block scheduling), and I am given a grade in each.</p>
