Other Factors, hook?: Legacy, full-tuition, very nice upward trend (grades)

General Comments, scholarship chances, status info, going to USC...?: Nothing. I'm speechless. Unfortunately, I thought USC would look at my character growth and essays over my numbers. Guess not

You're a legacy?

legacy status? yes, albeit not a strong one: my brother graduated a few years ago.

i got my rejection letter 10 minutes ago. It was dated March 27, 2009 and I also live in SoCal. Good Luck to the rest of you still waiting and keep hope.

I did not get a status update since 2/8 and I applied to Marshall.

so many so-cal people are getting rejected >.< i'm too nervous to go to my mailbox

Socal...no letter either way, no update since 3/6. /sigh

wow that sucks dude,
a LEGACY with competitive stats who's able to pay FULL TUITION...wow..
im hella worried now...

i live in socal. and my last status update was on 2/03...
sucks being rejected !

"Nothing. I'm speechless. Unfortunately, I thought USC would look at my character growth and essays over my numbers. Guess not"

^Soooooo true! USC only looks at numbers... my only downfall was my GPA and my essay I thought was okay. I have a BUNCH of ECs and I'm first gen.

But I got rejected too :(
I'm mad and sad.

Hey guys, I'm in the same boats all of you. Update on 3/11 in San Diego - no rejection letter today, but now I'm sure it's coming. I feel really bad for all of us....I'll probably go to LMU which I actually really liked. I've been doing some research on it since suspectng I'd get rejected. Where are you all looking at going?

Haha, I'm deciding between Occidental and LMU, too, though I haven't visited either campus yet. how's the diversity and social scene at lmu?

I'm from San Diego too gilgamesh. I applied to LMU, but I haven't heard anything yet. So far I've been accepted into NYU, Pepperdine, Syracuse and Chapman. I'm really looking at NYU's Tisch and Chapman's Dodge right now. Hopefully, I'll also be accepted into LMU.

Rejected. Oh well, off to SD.

rejected.......

^^are you guys all from cali?

I'm sorry everyone. It seems that all of us who got status updates are likely to receive rejections. I'm curious about what boss529 asked as well, are you all from Cal?

I'm from Southern California.

i'm from southern california as well..

Dang, why did USC choose March 28th as rejection day for people in their own state? :/ I'm so sorry to hear about all these rejections from my fellow Californians. I'll probably be joining this thread today...
