I just wanted to see how many people are in the program.

I also have a few questions

Also, what team are you guys/girls on?
Did anyone just see the kickoff for the new game?
What do you think of it?
Do you have an obssession with Woodie Flowers?

Just wanted a little discussion =]

Team: Team HYPER 69 (Trust me, the number was not intentional)
I just saw the kickoff online
The 1/6 gravity is weird
The man is awesome!

Wow...no one? Come on.. there's gotta be some robotics people out there!

I'm not on a team because our school's team(1717) is seniors only. I saw the kickoff online though and the competition this year looks pretty sick. I like the 1/6 gravity, since it definitely adds another dimension to the competition. Not so sure about having the people throw the balls though.

Haha 69. But sorry, I don't feel comfortable saying my team#. I was at the kickoff today and I have to say, it's a very interesting game. Certainly the most interesting in my 4 years of involvement. Woody Flowers is cool, but seriously, those Dean Kamen speeches put me to sleep.

Haha yea. We would normally have like a team breakfast thing and then watch it, but the high school is currently being renovated and the area where we are is gonna interfere with the build season, so we had to move to the basement of a church across the street and they didn't have enough time to get the computer and equipment set up.

The ball concept will be interesting because you could just try and get the balls into the opponent's trailer yourself. It'd probably be good to have someone on the basketball team XD

Yea, except it's hard to find basketball players who do robotics<__<

Well, we've managed to do so, which is kinda weird, considering basketball season is also during build season, but we manage. What regionals have you been to?

I was at kick-off today... that is going to be quite the game, quite the game indeed.

Woody Flowers is awesome.

They should definitely implement the rule that you have to have a ponytail to enter the pits, in honor of him. Well, Hawaiian shirts work, too, but ponytails are cooler.

The 1/6 gravity is going to be "kind of trippy," as my friend said. And the fact that you can only use the pre-approved wheels that come in the kit of parts (or order more of that same kind) is going to be interesting. It certainly eliminates the potential of teams to use mecanum drive, which was quite popular last year, and would have been handy this year.

By the way, @hawkphoenix, aren't the Dean Kamen speeches supposed to be the speed-controller this year, to quote "Who Wants to be an Engineer?" :D

Yea, definitely. Haha, we should all grow ponytails for our regionals. That would be really cool if by 2010 we march on Washington. It would for sure be the smartest gathering of nerdy people, in person of course. Anywhere would be right here :D

Yeah, that's true! CC = nerd central.

Do you have any funny quirks about your team?

Like for us, we kinda have a few theme songs, such as Crazy Train and Everytime We Touch by Cascada, don't ask why, they just sort of cropped up. Our team is very odd, but it is always fun to be a part of. Also, what team you on?
