The second link offers all the SAT II Subject Tests and their test dates. So the History SAT II test date is June 3rd. I've reading the Barron's but I'm really nervous. I'm not like most CC's, I don't score great on these things (I'm horrible at these tests!!!) Any advice for the test? Any one taken the test or prep for this test? Any advice will be really helpful. Thanks

I'm going to be taking the world history SATII in June, pretty much right after my course. I'm planning to get the Barron's study book, study it thoroughly starting in May - after APs - and keep practicing with the practice tests. I've heard the curve on this SATII is pretty generous, but definitely want to be prepared because there's so much breadth. Probably there won't be questions on too detailed stuff though, more trends, key events...

I took the World History one--I thought it was impossibly difficult.

I gave World History in December 2005 and got 710. I studied for only 4 days the week before the test. I never had history in high school. It is pretty easy and if you do one or two practice tests after finishing your book, you can easily get over 700. I studied from Barron's. I just went through the whole book once finishing the quizzes at the end of each chapter. I gave just one practice test.

In the actual test you will find 4-5 uncommon questions which are not addressed in any text book. You can only answer these if you have prior knowledge of the topic. If you find an uncommon picture question, you can give an educated guess (for example, if you're told to identify the architecture of an ancient castle and you see it has pagodas, it's probably Chinese).

If you can answer correctly over 75 out of the 95 questions, you'll get a good score. So you can get about 10 wrong and still get around 700. Very few people give World History and the mark curves a LOT. It is pretty easy to get high marks. The only downside is you have to read about 400-450 pages of history.

tip for AP Euro fans....Euro overlaps with WH about ~75%, so a good time to take WH subject test is after AP Euro.

Ya bluebayou I heard that about the AP Euro, sadly I'm not in that course right now. I'm taking WH so hopefully that will be enough. I'm doing really badly on the practice tests though.
