FIRST scholarships

A universal requirement amongst schools offering scholarships is that applicants for the scholarship must have participated in at least one FULL season of FRC or FTC. My school only allows seniors to participate in FIRST.

Would I not be eligible, as these scholarship applications are due before robotics season starts?

At my son’s high school, the FIRST team is pretty much a year-round club. During the summer and fall they train new students on programming, control theory, and design, they do some prototyping, and they get organized for the upcoming winter build season. If your school’s club is active in the summer and/or fall, I think you could make a case for having been on the team a full season, assuming you’ll continue to participate through the regional competitions in the spring. Most of the scholarship applications aren’t available until the spring anyway, right?

Good luck - hope you enjoy your FIRST experience.
