what do ppl usually get in their freshman year?

lol hey that’s better than what I’m looking at (3.0, I think), and I am also a freshman. :P

a 3.5 is really good IMO. most people wish they did that well.

ah… you see, Im shootin for law school…
■■■ I shouldn’t have procrastinated

2 days until Astro C10 midterm and I still need to watch like 7 lectures ■■■

i had a 2.0 it’s pretty hard to come back from.

I understand your concern. Anything under a 3.8 causes this sort of existential horror in me, I mean, I can’t even consider graduating with a GPA under that. Feelings of extreme guilt occur whenever I’m not doing work. There are, however, two medications which alleviate this constant worry: exercise and drinking. As a result, I lead a very contradictory life.

Enjoy your unrelenting anxiety. And wear those bags under your eyes like a badge of honor. They make you look distinguished, trust me.

2 days gives you 48 hours to watch about 7 hours of lecture. not too bad.

are you *****ing about a 3.5? good god. I had below a 3 freshman year. ■■■■.

You started a thread like this??? If you are in a cream puff humanities major like Mass Comm or American Studies than consider giving yourself a slap in the face.

No need to be so mean…
Maybe he is shooting for Haas and needs a 3.7 average

Hey LH, what’s considered a good gpa for an IB major? or a pre-med in general actually?

Yea, maybe you’re cool with attending Hastings.

I actually took a classics class that was supposedly easy. The professor wasn’t really clear on what you needed to do to get a good grade and I ended up with a B, which then dropped my GPA by a LOT. It was just really unfair and extremely subjective.

It’s not all about the GPA. Stop worrying so much.

@stly: A B dropped your GPA? Damn, dude…What kind of 3.7+ are you pulling?

Yeah, I took 19 units (12 technical units) my first semester as a freshman. Little wonder why I got an inkling above 3.0. Then the next semester I took 17 units (12 technical units) and got a 3.0 again. ********.

a 3.5 isn’t bad at all, considering you have 7 more semesters to go! I think if one is applying to law school, he/she should methodical in their approach in picking and choosing classes (and majors). Don’t do engineering if you want to attend a prestigious law school, unless you’re good at that kind of stuff. If you have your mind SET on law school, pick classses/majors that will boost that 3.5 to a 3.99!

don’t grad schools realize it if you’re taking easy classes to boost your GPA? lol. or else everyone could do it and inflate their gpa…

nope i guess they don’t.

don’t they? LOL

i thought for medical/dental schools they did…

aren’t you pre-med LH? why aren’t you directly applying to med school? just curious.

also, to clarify:

So do med schools care if we go to a difficult school like Berkeley? Do they take it into account?

And, if we take easy classes to boost our GPA are they going to notice this? Or do they just care about the pre-med courses? Or do they just look at the number basically?
