First semester courses changed due to illness?

I took 5 AP courses during my junior year but fell sick and was hospitalized twice then ordered to bed rest during the first semester of my senior year. Because I was so ill, I had to drop all of my AP's. I am currently attending school and will still graduate on time.

I explained it briefly in the additional notes section of the common app. I have decent test scores, a good GPA, great extracurriculars, and a true passion for what I want to do.

How much do you think my application has been affected? I finished all of my applications on time too! :-)

Decent and good don’t cut it. You have to explain more. And why would colleges want someone who is always going to be ill and costing their infirmary money.

I would have suggested that you have your HS GC comment on your illness and necessity to change your coursework on the SSR rather than you doing it in the Additional Info section. If they haven’t sent the mid-year report yet, you might have them mention it then.

Hogwash.

Far too diplomatic.
