First Semester Grades

Hey guys, use this tool to post your grades by each ending semster. You can ask for help, advice, etc.
This semester (block scheduling, 4 periods) was ok, I guess...buyt that is all. Nothing Big.

Spanish III -94
AP Lang- 101
Physics GAC- 94
Adv. Chorus IV- 99

Any advice to do better next semester?? This year for some reason Physics was rocky at first. The kinematics really got me.

Our semester grades are just letter grades. 4 B’s and 2 A’s (157 in Anatomy). Senioritis is legit

Our semester is not over yet but last report card was

Spanish 3- 89
French 1- 94
English 4- 87
Enviro science-89

Are you kidding me, saye? You’re disappointed in those grades?

^only on CC are people unsatisfied with straight A’s

Usually I’d agree but “straight As” is useless when you get an average on a 100 point scale. There’s none of this shady “anything from a 90-100 is an A” thing - it’s somewhere between 90-100, so don’t try and tell me there’s no difference between a 92 and a 100.

Well, right now I have straight As. But, my AP Music Theory teacher STILL hasn’t posted our grades! Grades were due for teachers on Friday, so I’m a little irritated that she still doesn’t have them for us (there are only 8 people in our class and it was a multiple choice test…)

“so don’t try and tell me there’s no difference between a 92 and a 100.”

At my school it’s only an A if it’s between 94 and 100, and we don’t have A-, A+, anything like that.
I like it, even though it’s harder to get an A. There’s no hair-splitting over the difference between a 96% and a 100%.

My grades so far are consecutive:
Spanish II - 97%
Honors English II - 98%
Financial Literacy - 99%
AP Bio - 100%

How do you guys have so few classes?

AP Calc AB - A (just had a really rough test, and tests are 60%, so its rocky)
AP Physics B - A
AP Environmental Science - A
AP English Lang - A
APUSH - A
SRT (science, research, and technology) III - A
Ecology - A
Chamber Orchestra - A

Final semester grades:

Honors Precalc - A
AP English Lang - A+
AP Physics B - B
AP Psych - A+
APUSH - A+

“How do you guys have so few classes?”

My school has block scheduling. We have four classes per day for the first semester, and four different classes per day for the second semester. Each class period is about 90 minutes long.

@halcyon: So you get a full year’s worth of each course but do it in a semester? As in, a year’s credits?

Yes. It’s the same total amount of hours. Basically we cover two days’ worth of material every day.

AP Lit - 95
Anatomy - 96
AP Spanish - 101
AP Biology - 93
AP Statistics - 101
Economics - 94

my school makes its classes way too easy. Basically, if you are kind of smart and try a little, you are pretty much guaranteed an A.

Chem 1 - 101%
Intro to Speech - 102%
Pre-calculus - 101%
World History 2 - 99%
Select choir - 100%
Spanish 2 - 106%
English 10 - 101%

What is really is sad, is that this is pretty much the hardest schedule my school has to offer for sophomores, otherwise I would have taken harder classes. (believe me, I tried)

It’s not “sad” because those are fairly average honors classes to be offered to sophomores, but I agree that the grades look highly inflated. (Mine are too, though.)

My first semester doesn’t end till mid-January, but I don’t see my grades changing too much by then.

Spanish IV- A (92)
AP Economics - A (94)
AP Calc AB- A (100)
Honors Debate 2- A (105)
English 12 CP- A (93)
AP Biology - A (95)

Favorite class is Calc and least favorite is Bio. Go figure

Oh I do the same thing but I have “A” days and “B” days year round with 4 different 90 minute classes each day

We have the same classes every day of the week, but I wish we alternated so I could have extra time to finish homework.

AP Lang. & Comp - 91 (101)
AP Statistics - 93 (103)
Precalculus Gifted - 94
AP U.S. History - 94 (104)
AP Physics B - 96 (106)
French II - 98

Really proud of my grades this past semester. Made all A’s in some of the toughest classes! And in addition, my county adds 10 points to your grade in AP classes.
