Do most colleges see it?...

I just went to a UF Admissions presentation and they said they would NOT see the grades you received the first semester of senior year, only the classes you were actually taking, so it would not be a factor in GPA calculations.

Mind = blown. That's terrible for me, my senior year was supposed to be my time to shine. HL Bio, Chem, Calculus, English, U.S. History, SL Physics, and ToK...

Really? What the fudge?

All colleges I applied to required first semester senior grades as soon as they were available

Unless you are applying early (ED, EA or rolling), most schools ask for a mid-year report. I’m guessing that since UF is likely rolling, that is why they don’t request one. I can’t remember but perhaps most rolling schools don’t ask for mid-years??

However, most schools that do RD admissions will have until spring to give you a decision, so they have plenty of time to look at your mid-year and see how you’re doing in the classes that you listed on your application.
