First semester senior grades

So I'm applying regular decision to some schools, which are due around the beginning of January, and I was wondering how much weight they put into first semester senior grades.
I always hear that they don't want to see a "significant" drop in grades.
However, this year, i'm taking 4 AP classes and 2 non-AP classes (which is considered a very heavily loaded schedule at my school), and I have A's in all of my classes except AP Gov and AP Calculus AB.

I'm interested in engineering and for some reason in AP Gov my brain just cannot function the way my teacher tests and I have a C in the class....

In AP Calculus, it is very hard to learn, primarily because my calculus teacher is considered one of the worst teachers in the school. I have a B- in that class.

In all my other AP and regular classes I have A's.

So I'm just wondering if these grades (the C- and B) are bad enough for colleges to rescind my their decision? I'm very worried... as raising those grades is pretty much hopeless.

Thanks

It’s doubtful those grades would warrant an admissions rescission. Ds or Fs though…

there’s a chance that it will affect your chances but if you’re challenging yourself and getting As in most of your classes you really should be fine (it also depends where you’re applying- what colleges are you looking at?). you have awhile before the semester ends though, so i’d recommend talking to your gov teacher about how you can improve so that hopefully you can bring the grade up into the b range before your grades are sent to admissions.

seems like a lot of excuses…

Closing old thread.
