First Time ACT Taker, any tips?

Hello everyone, I have been a long-time reader but a new poster to CC. Anyways I am taking my first ACT in October and I was wondering if the gurus here can give me some advice. I am a Sophomore so there is time for me to retake should I need to.

After averaging my 3 practice ACT's (2 printed online from ACT, 1 from "The Real ACT Prep Guide") I got:

31 English (30,31,31)
31 Math (32,29,31)
31 Reading (26,34,32)
34 Science (36,34,33)

Composite:32 (31,32,33)

My goal is a 33 or higher, is there any tips you guys can give me? Thank you!

Don’t send any of your ACT scores to colleges until you have taken it however many times you like. I made the mistake of sending my first ACT score before I took it again and my second score was much better.

Do not be fooled by practice ACT Science tests. They are always very easy. The real deal is pretty difficult (Science only). Be vigilant; don’t overthink.

It’s ironic that I have done horribly on the Science section in practice but I actually scored a 35 on the September test (thanks to the curve). I think it’s because I decided on test day to read the questions first and go directly to the graphs and tables. Saved so much time :D

work quickly and reading and science. Science you have to blow through 7 passages in 35 minutes. Math and English are pretty easy.
