Around CC there are a ton of people who've taken APs before but I'm going to be a senior and taking my first ones! All I've taken is the test before! I'm taking:

AP Bio
AP Eng. Lang
AP US Gov.
AP Psych.

What do you guys suggest I should do to prepare? What should I expect in class? I've gotten some summer work but it's only summer reading and setting up a lab ahead of time.

Feel free to post your classes too if you're in the same situation as me and need help too!
Thanks!

I’m taking AP Biology too! With those AP classes, you can’t really prepare for them but those classes require a LOT of written work though, I hear their not super hard, but they are challenging like all AP classes. Good Luck.

Yes, definitely a lot of written work. For my Gov class we had these chapter questions (about 40 questions each) and, hand written, were about 11 pages front and back. Of coure you could type them, which I did form then on. Lang/Comp, we did MC and an essay every week which only took three days under test conditions. We would have one day to review our MC and the other day was a game day. Pretty simple. For Psych we only had to do reading notes for every chapter and the rest were lecture notes. Pretty laid back. I can’t really testify for Bio since I’ve never taken it.

Ah, written work. Lovely. My US Gov. teacher is a huge computer nerd. I wonder if we’ll just be typing out a lot of our stuff. (Each kid at my school needs to by a laptop before they start going here). I sure he’ll find someone way to make it more difficult than it already is. Lol. Has anyone had an AP Lang. class where they used a lot novel work too? I know that we have to buy 8 reading books for during the year!

It’s good to know its mainly work based and I should be able to understand everything.

Derp. I’m actually taking Eng. Lit. I always get them mixed up.

Hahah I was actually wondering why you were taking an 11th grade course, but hey you never know. I’m not taking Lit next year. Mother says she doesn’t want to have to deal with my AP overload rage.

I took Lang and Psych. Im assuming you took the SAT, and Lang is a lot like the CR and Essays on the SAT.
AP Psych is very easy, straightforward, and fun. Don’t worry about that one. Gov shouldn’t be too hard either.
Just treat each one like a regular honors class. The test is the only difference.
I’m taking AP Bio as a senior too!

@ niquii77 Yeah. My school just call it AP English 4 instead of being specific.

@Aerobug Yay! There’s maybe 13 seniors and 3 juniors in my class for next year. People usually like to take Physics junior year. I don’t know why.

At my school, Physics is junior class. Physics C is a senior clas, though. I’m taking Physics B senior year only because a schedule mix up with a canceled class.

Ah. At my school you can take it during Junior or Senior year at either level. Depending on what you’ve done before.

Maybe I should’ve said it like that ^ lol That’s how we do it. I don’t mind being in a class full of juniors really.
