FloridaMomma…we fly out of PBI or FLL to Birmingham and rent a car…

FloridaMomma – Our first Bama visit was a June visit. We had to do numerous summer visits. Bama has enough going on and enough students doing summer research or classes that we did not feel that we had a less than ideal experience.

We did as M2CK said and made our visit thru Allison in the Honors College. Allison was able to set up a lunch with a current student, meetings with Deans, etc.

Don’t get too worked up if you have to go over the summer. It was perfect for my son. A “typical” busy time of year visit would have overwhelmed him at that stage of the game.

We’re in-state from up here in Huntsville. This is my daughter’s junior year at Alabama. She is another who absolutely refused to apply anywhere else. She had to been on campus many times with her high school band, and knew she liked the environment. Many older friends from high school were already there.

We went down with her best friend during spring of her junior year in high school. After that trip she said UA was the ONLY school she would go to. She would go there or nowhere, she was that set in her opinion. She has loved every minute of her UA experience.

With the guaranteed scholarships, if your student has the GPA and the test scores, don’t worry about it being the only school they want to apply to.
